Aslan Scott Sattler lives in northern California and has been a student of Universal Sufism since 1983. He is initiated as a teacher in the Dervish Healing Order, the Sufi Ruhaniat International and the International Sufi Movement. His delight in sharing the transmission of Universal Sufism through the creation of “Instant Sufi Choirs” and the Dances of Universal Peace has taken him worldwide, including Central America, Germany and the International Sufi Movement’s summer school in the Netherlands. His choirs are open to all. There are no tryouts, for it is more important to sing than to sing ‘right.’ The ability to read music is not required, as all teaching is of the oral tradition. His choirs explore the joy of sung spiritual practices and chants from a host of world traditions including Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism, Buddhism and the Divine Feminine. Participants are free to bring recording devices.
